Julia Debs

Hi, I’m Julia! As the owner of Golden Hour Therapy, I’m deeply committed to creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where individuals, couples and families can feel safe to show up exactly as they are. I founded this practice with a strong belief in the power of therapy and the importance of a compassionate environment where healing, growth, and self-discovery can truly flourish.

I founded Golden Hour Therapy out of a genuine passion for helping others and a strong belief in the power of meaningful therapeutic relationships. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make that first step feel as comfortable and empowering as possible. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, family/relationship conflict, or major life transitions, I aim to meet you exactly where you are with empathy, compassion, and respect for your unique journey.

My approach to therapy is rooted in a strengths-based perspective. I believe that every individual already has the capacity for growth and healing, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Together, we work to uncover your strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools to help you navigate challenges both inside and outside of the therapy room. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral and solutions-focused techniques, while also creating space for deeper emotional processing and self-exploration.

I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families, particularly in areas such as self-esteem, identity development, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation. I understand how difficult it can be to manage overwhelming emotions, negative self-talk, or feelings of disconnection. In our work together, we will focus on helping you better understand your thoughts and emotions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to yourself and others.

For adolescents and young adults, I focus on creating a safe and supportive space where they can open up at their own pace and feel truly heard and understood. My work centers on helping individuals build self-awareness, strengthen confidence, and develop healthy coping strategies for navigating challenges such as peer relationships, identity, and emotional regulation. While I incorporate family collaboration when helpful, my primary focus is empowering each client to better understand themselves, express their needs, and feel more confident in who they are.

I incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) into my work to help clients process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences.

EMDR is a structured, evidence-based approach that supports the brain in reprocessing difficult memories so they feel less overwhelming and no longer hold the same emotional intensity. I use EMDR to help clients move through past experiences that may be impacting their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, allowing them to feel more grounded, resilient, and in control. My approach is always paced and tailored to each individual, ensuring that clients feel safe, supported, and ready throughout the process.

I also bring a level of authenticity and relatability into my work. I don’t believe therapy should feel overly clinical or disconnected as I aim to create a genuine human connection where you feel supported, challenged, and understood. My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative, and I will always work with you to tailor our sessions to what feels most helpful for you.

At the core of my work is the belief that healing is possible. Even in the midst of pain, uncertainty, or feeling stuck, change can happen. You deserve to feel confident, connected, and at peace within yourself. Therapy can be a powerful step toward creating that life.

If you’re ready to invest in yourself and begin your journey toward healing and growth, I would be honored to support you.
